If you are looking for a quiet place to live, a nice big house to spend time with your kids or big gardens to rest after a long day at work, Markham is the greatest place to live.
Markham is located quite far from the city of Toronto, which means that you need to take your car to get to the city if you work there. However, distance is not a problem if after a complicated and stressful day in the middle of the city; you can get to your beautiful house and peaceful place in Markham. Going from Markham to Toronto will only take 20 minutes of your time by car or 30 minutes by GO train, it seems a lot but means nothing after you look for the advantages placed in Markham.
In addition, Markham is considered as the small capital of high technology of Canada, where most of the technological companies are located, such as IBM, Motorola, Toshiba, and Apple.
Nowadays, Markham has a population of 350000 people living there. It is not considered as a big city but is not considered as a small town.
Markham is composed with different neighborhoods, called communities. Each of them have their own features and of course, own and different real estate prices. Some of them are smaller than the other ones and have less or more services available. The features and services will cause the prices to go up or down, depending on the time of the year and the options available for anyone that wants to buy or sell their houses.
Markham's communities are: Angus Glen, Armadale, Berczy Village, Box Grove, Buttonville, Cachet Cashel, Cedar Grove, Cornell, Crosby, Centre of Markham, Dickson's Hill, Gormley, Greensborough, Legacy, Locust Hill, Markham Village, Milliken Mills, Quantztown, Raymerville/Markville East, Rouge Fairways, Sherwood - Amber Glen, Thornhill, Unionville, Vinegar Hill and Wismer Commons.

The second cheapest community is in Uptown or center of Markham, where you may find prices around 380000CAD for an apartment for two persons.
If you prefer houses, suitable for a family of four people, you may want to choose the neighborhood of Buttonville, where the cheapest prices are around 550000 CAD with three baths and two parking spots.
Another community where prices are still low is the neighborhood of Greensborough. Located a few miles from the city center but full of green areas where you may find a house for a family for 580000CAD.
It is important to take into account that prices may vary during the months of the years and due to the offer and demand.
